Les Arcs is regarded as one of best resorts in the French Alps. In 2003 the Vanoise Express linked Les Arcs with La Plagne creating the largest ski resort in the world.
The cable car which carries 200 people in 5 minutes across the valley, offering spectacular views and creating one of the largest and most diverse ski areas in the world. Whatever your level or experience there is something for you from the tree lined runs through the forests of Peisey-Vallandry and Montchavin-Les Coches to the spectacular red and black run of 17 km from the top of the glacier on the Aguille Rouge to the tiny village of Villaroger over 2000m (6500ft) below.
Getting around the six areas of Les Arcs, La Plagne, Montchavin-Les Coches, Peisey-Vallandry, Champagny and Villaroger on the well-linked lift system is easy and quick and Paradiski is extensive enough for even the most experienced skier to explore a different area every day of the week. For the more adventurous there are plenty of opportunities to fine tune your skills close to the piste before tackling more adventurous off piste or back country skiing with a guide. There is a free bus service which stops outside the chalet taking you to the nearest lift approximately four minutes away.
